Spending is a Progressive Web App — install it directly from your browser in seconds. Works just like a native app, no App Store or Play Store needed.
Using Safari — takes about 30 seconds.
Open Safari on your iPhone or iPad and visit app.tryspending.com. This must be Safari — Chrome and Firefox on iOS cannot install PWAs.
Important: Must use Safari. Other browsers on iPhone don't support home screen installation.
At the bottom of the screen, tap the Share button — it looks like a box with an arrow pointing up (↑). If you're on an iPad, the Share button is in the top bar.
The Share button is the square with an upward arrow at the bottom centre of Safari.
Scroll down in the share sheet until you see "Add to Home Screen". Tap it. If you don't see it, scroll down further — it's usually below the app suggestions.
Look for the "Add to Home Screen" option with a plus icon in the share menu.
A dialog will appear showing "Spending" as the name. Tap "Add" in the top right corner. The Spending icon will appear on your home screen.
Tap "Add" to confirm. Spending will appear on your home screen like any native app.
Find the Spending icon on your home screen and tap it. The app opens in full screen — no browser address bar, no distractions. Just the app.
iOS 16.4 or later recommended for the best PWA experience, including push notifications. Go to Settings → General → Software Update to check your version.
Works with Chrome, Samsung Internet, and most Android browsers.
Open Chrome on your Android phone and visit app.tryspending.com. Chrome is recommended — it has the best PWA support on Android.
Chrome may automatically show an "Add Spending to Home screen" banner at the bottom of the screen. If it appears, tap "Install" and you're done.
If the install banner appears automatically, just tap "Install" — that's the fastest path.
If no banner appears, tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top right corner of Chrome. Look for "Add to Home screen" or "Install app" and tap it.
Tap the three dots in the top right → "Add to Home screen" or "Install app".
A dialog will appear asking to add Spending to your home screen. Tap "Add" or "Install". The icon will appear on your home screen and in your app drawer.
Tap "Add" to confirm. Spending installs like a native app — no Play Store needed.
Tap the Spending icon on your home screen. The app launches in full screen with no browser chrome. It also appears in your app drawer like any other installed app.
Using Samsung Internet? Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) → "Add page to" → "Home screen". Works the same way.
Open the app in your browser, then follow the steps above to install it.
